Brighton Bandits
Poster and DVD cover design for Brighton Bandits, a documentary film about gay football, which premiered at the Cinecity Brighton Film Festival in December 2007. I photographed a member of the Bandits team from the front wearing his team strip, and naked from the back. I wanted to create an image with impact, but without drawing on stereotypes of gay life in Brighton, which the client was keen to avoid. The cropped head and the heavy shadows are appropriate for a film which deals with serious questions of identity and examines the interior lives of the players.
